Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Taal Lab website, account, file-transfer features and digital store. By using an account or placing an order, you agree to the terms that apply to that feature. If you do not agree, do not use the relevant service.
1. Taal Lab and contact
Taal Lab
2. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials confidential and promptly tell us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where applicable law provides otherwise. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or legal rights.
3. File transfers
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload, share or receive files. Do not upload or distribute unlawful, infringing, malicious or otherwise prohibited material. Transfer links are private; anyone who obtains a link may be able to access the associated files. Transfers and files expire according to the expiry information shown in the service. Do not rely on the service as your only backup.
4. Digital products and orders
Product descriptions, included files and prices are shown in the store. An order is submitted through the checkout and is subject to successful payment verification. Payments are processed by Razorpay. The order confirmation and your account's purchases area provide the available download access. You are responsible for checking product compatibility and system requirements described on the product page before purchase.
5. Digital-product licence
Unless a product page or accompanying licence says otherwise, a completed purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the purchased digital product for your own creative work. You must not resell, redistribute, publicly share, sublicense or make the original product files available to others. This section does not transfer ownership of Taal Lab's or a third party's intellectual property. If a product includes third-party material, its accompanying licence may impose additional terms.
6. Refunds
Digital-product refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Age requirements and parent/guardian involvement
After verifying an account email address, users must provide their date of birth before entering the signed-in account area. Accounts identified as belonging to people under 18 are placed in a pending parent/guardian setup state and cannot make purchases or initiate payment actions. A parent/guardian must use a separate adult-classified account with a verified email address, attest that they are the child's parent or legal guardian, and send a single-use invitation to the child's verified account email. The child must sign in to their own account and accept the link. Optional permissions start off and can be managed separately by the parent: tutorial viewing, lesson-material downloads, comments/discussions, and uploading/sharing. Purchases and payments remain disabled for child accounts regardless of parental settings.
Initial adult classification uses the date of birth entered by the account holder and verified email ownership. Parent attestation and child acceptance create only a pending link; child account features remain blocked until an authorised TaalLab administrator records a separate manual review of the adult's identity, age and parent/guardian relationship using reliable evidence outside this application. The app records the reviewer, time and review method but does not collect identity-document images or perform automated government-ID verification. TaalLab must obtain local legal advice on the adequacy of this evidence and process. Tutorial access also requires a valid entitlement; TaalLab does not currently provide a tutorial catalogue or playback system in this application.
A parent may withdraw consent from the parent dashboard. Withdrawal turns off all child permissions, revokes the active link and signs the child out of active sessions. It does not automatically delete the child's account or all records. A parent or child may submit a privacy deletion request, which is verified and reviewed before action. Consent records and permission-change history are retained while the link is active and for up to two years after withdrawal, unless a longer period is required by law.
8. Acceptable use
Do not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorised access, bypass security or download restrictions, misuse another person's account, or use the service to distribute unlawful or harmful content. We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate action.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, be suspended or be withdrawn where reasonably necessary. We do not make a fixed uptime guarantee in these Terms.
10. Liability and consumer rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Taal Lab is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms by publishing a revised version with a new effective date. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to mandatory consumer protections and the jurisdiction of competent courts.
12. Copyright and content complaints
If you believe material made available through a Taal Lab file transfer or digital product infringes your copyright or other rights, email contact@taallab.in with: (a) your name and contact details; (b) identification of the work or right you own or are authorised to represent; (c) the exact Taal Lab URL or transfer reference and a description of the material; (d) why you believe the use is unauthorised; and (e) a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. Do not send passwords or unrelated personal information.
We will review reports, may request information needed to assess them, and may restrict access to material while investigating. We may notify the uploader and consider a response. This contact route is for reporting and review; it is not a representation that Taal Lab has registered a designated agent under the U.S. DMCA or that any particular statutory safe-harbour status applies. We will handle notices under applicable law.
